What platform should you build your website on?

You've probably heard the term "website platform" before. But what exactly does it mean? A website platform is a software that allows you to build, host and manage your website. It's what makes your website possible!
There are many reasons why you might want to choose a particular platform over another--it could be because of its features or cost, for example--but in this article, we'll focus on how each type of platform stacks up against one another in terms of ease-of-use and accessibility for beginners.

WordPress
WordPress is the most popular blogging platform in the world, with over 60 million websites using it. It's also used for e-commerce sites and even custom web design projects.
WordPress was initially designed as a blogging platform but has evolved into much more than that over time. Nowadays, you can use WordPress to create any website you want--from corporate websites to artist portfolios and everything in between!
Pros:

• Easy to use and learn (even for non-technical people).
• Many free themes are available through their marketplace, or paid ones if you want something custom-made for your business/brand identity.

Cons:

• * You'll need someone who knows how to code well enough if you want anything more complex than just text & images on your site (like having forms where users can submit information).
• If you don't update it, then it can have issues with security and hackers, and the problem is when you try and update plugins, some might interfere with your theme, so it is not that straightforward. Hence you need some WP guru or IT support.

Squarespace
Squarespace is an excellent option for those who want to build a website but don't have any coding knowledge. This platform allows you to create beautiful websites without knowing the ins and outs of web design.

• Squarespace has an intuitive drag-and-drop editor that allows you to create pages easily and add text, images and video clips from within the platform. You can also choose from thousands of pre-made templates if you want something more customized than what's available in Squarespace's library of free designs (which are also customizable).
• The biggest downside with this platform is its lack of flexibility when it comes to customizing your site beyond the basics--you'll need some basic HTML knowledge if you want more advanced features like custom CSS or JavaScript code changes on your site.

Wix
Wix is a web development platform that allows you to create a website without coding knowledge. It's easy to use, with drag-and-drop functionality and an extensive library of templates.
Wix is great for people who want an affordable option that still looks professional but has some limitations regarding customization and site performance. For example, if you want to add things like eCommerce or video content (or anything else), then Wix won't be able to do it for you unless they add those features themselves first--which they may not do anytime soon!

The pricing structure also makes sense: there are three different tiers based on how much time each person needs from their designer/developer team members (i.e. if someone could manage the project themselves without help). This means that even small businesses can get started quickly without breaking the bank; however, there aren't many options available beyond what's included in each package level, so keep that in mind before deciding which one works best for your needs.
